Step 1: Find the beginning of your brow. The head of the brow typically begins above the inner corner of your eye. Hold the brow pencil parallel to the side of your nostril to show where the beginning is (1). If you have a wider nose you must account for this feature pushing the pencil further out, so be sure to bring it in just a smidge closer towards your nose. Many people need more to the head of the brow.
Step 2: Find where your arch is (2). I love this part because it's fun playing with raising and lowering the height of the arch. While looking straight ahead line up your pencil diagonally from the outside of the nostril to the outer part of your pupil.
Step 3: Find the end of the tail (3). The tails lie on the same "line" as the head of the brow. Never have the tail of your brow lower than the head. A lower tail makes for a sad or worried look.
Pro tips:

For a classic and modern brow size try 1cm or 1/2 inch thick. This medium size suits most people.

Try creating 2 parallel lines with the bottom line tapering only slightly up to the bottom of the arch (2).

Thinner brows also known as "Pin Brows" are most reminiscent of the overplucked 80's and 90's look. This style tends to age people.
